Topol is the author of “The Creative Destruction of Medicine: How The Digital Revolution Will Create Better Health Care.” The book discusses social networking, smartphones and the powerful new tools that sequence each individual’s genome.Topol will discuss how consumer control of their individual information will revolutionize medicine.
Topol was named “Doctor of the Decade” by the Institute for Scientific Information and is the chief academic officer of Scripps Health, a senior cardiologist practitioner at Scripps Clinic, and a professor of genomics at The Scripps Research Institute.
