Dear Rebel Football Fans:
We are less than 60 days away from the 2014-season opener for our UNLV Rebels, which is Friday, Aug. 29 at the University of Arizona!
Under the direction of Head Coach Bobby Hauck and his staff, UNLV Football experienced a breakthrough season in 2013. Coach Hauck and his staff led the Rebels to a winning record (7-6 overall, 5-3 in the Mountain West) and played in a bowl game for the first time since 2000. The Rebels’ appearance in the 2014 Heart of Dallas Bowl was the first ever New Year’s Day Bowl game for UNLV.
As we look to 2014, the UNLV Football Team has an opportunity to post back-to-back winning seasons for the first time since 1983-84. The goals for UNLV Football in 2014 are:
- Winning the Mountain West Conference West Division
- Retaining the Fremont Cannon (reclaimed after 9-years, with a thrilling 27-22 victory in Reno)
- Having back-to-back bowl bids
- Graduating 100% of senior class
- Achieving a GPA of 2.5 or greater
The UFF and UNLV Athletics share the same vision to make Rebel Football a program that is coveted by some of the most sought after recruits in high school football. The state of Nevada can only fund so much of the program’s budget, and it is our mission to support UNLV Football. In fact, The UFF invested in a state-of-the-art video system that allows coaches to prepare game plans, practice plans, and self-scouting required to compete at the highest level. The previous system was antiquated and no longer supported by the provider to provide compatibility with modern technology. The new system allows coaches to be more efficient and effective in their practice and game planning.
The UFF offers the true Rebel football fan an inside look into the inner workings of the program not available to the casual fan. As a member, you will receive information not available to non-UFF members. You will receive first-hand briefings on the direction of the program during the season and beyond through luncheons with Coach Hauck and selected football program guests. The home game weekly luncheons and end of the year banquet provide for many memorable UNLV Football moments.
The next UFF event will be:
